Key Features

Safety needle with unique BD SmartSlip Technology incorporates a connector clip onto the hub to enable safe use with Luer-slip syringes. Recommended for paediatric and adult intramuscular injections (including vaccines) and also suitable for venipuncture.

  • Designed for easy, one-handed operation for both injection and aspiration
  • Needle is attached by pushing onto Luer-slip syringe until it audibly clicks
  • Safety cover can be pulled back with one finger
  • With safety cover up, needle is oriented bevel-up, enabling shallow-angle injection
  • After use, safety cover is re-engaged by pushing up on textured safety pad with finger or thumb
  • Semi-opaque design allows visual check that needle is covered
  • Dead space minimised between tip of needle and plunger to reduce medication waste
  • Colour-coded (compliant with ISO 6009) to indicate gauge for ease of identification
